Small Group Ministry The most important aspect of our ministry at GFPC is small groups. We place great value on them. We want you to be in a small group! Small groups are the place where people can grow deeper in the faith, commit themselves to disciplined Bible study and prayer, and be cared for. We do this because this is what Jesus did with his disciples. He built them up in small groups of twelve and then turned them loose on the world to make more disciples. Disciple 1 Bible Study This class is led by our pastor Scott Jeffreys. Disciple 1 is a high commitment Bible Study that meets for 34 weeks and covers the whole Bible in a chronological and thematic fashion. It is the goal of our church to get as many members as possible to take Disciple because it provides a solid foundation for understanding the one unified story of the Bible. We are used to reading the Bible in a very fragmented way, thus many Christians can’t put the pieces of the puzzle together. Disciple 1 will remedy that. Beth Moore Bible Study Beth Moore studies are tailored for our ladies and it is led by one of the great Bible teachers of our day, Beth Moore. Beth is a dynamic teacher who is passionate about showing women how the Bible is relevant for our lives. This past fall we studied her book “A Woman’s Heart, God’s Dwelling Place.” We are currently participating in Beth Moore's "Stepping Up." See our online church calendar for study times. Contact the GFPC office at 582-3875 if you would like to participate in a Beth Moore study during 2008.
PW Circle Groups We have two women’s circles that meet monthly for fellowship, food, and study on the first Monday of each month. Classes begin in September. One class meets at 10:30 a.m. and the other at 5:30 p.m. This year we will be studying, “Above and Beyond: Hearing God’s Call in Jonah and Ruth.” The theme of this Bible study will focus on the joys, challenges, and difficulties of hearing and obeying God’s call in our lives, using the OT lives of Ruth and Jonah as our examples.
Wednesday Night Prayer Meetings Get connected to God through the power of prayer! This small group of believers meets on Wednesdays of each month (see church calendar) from 5:30- 6:30 p.m. We share in an interactive devotional together, personal concerns with one another, and pray for the needs of our church. Because we are a church that values small groups, it is our desire to always add new ones as the Lord leads us to do so. Perhaps you have a great idea for a small group study or mission. Share it with us! If it fits our mission statement and there is a core group who will commit to it then we will launch a new group for the glory of God!
