A Recipe for Success

GFPC's tent at the city's All American Celebration on July 3rd was both fun and successful!  Over 60 church members and volunteers worked together to raise over $4000 for our church!  The theme for this year's tent was "Wanda's Hamburgers -- One More Time!"  Thank you to everyone who made this fundraising opportunity a hit with the City of Guntersville!  Pictures from this event and other summer 2010 events may be viewed at the GFPC Online Gallery.

GFPC Summer Worship Schedule

As of Sunday, June 27, GFPC is following its summer worship schedule.  All Sunday school classes will begin at 9 a.m. in Brock Fellowship Hall.  This includes the new-member class taught by interim pastor, Dr. Mel Strain.  Our summer worship service will follow at 10 a.m. in the church sanctuary.  The 2010 summer schedule will continue through the remainder of the summer months.  Make worshipping at GFPC a part of your weekend on beautiful Lake Guntersville, and we look forward to seeing you there!

Pastor Nominating Committee (PNC)

Our church Pastor Nominating Committee (PNC) is comprised of five individuals who were called to undertake a very important task:  They will be participating in the process of selecting the next pastor for GFPC.  Dr. Mel Strain is currently serving as the interim pastor for GFPC during this period of transition.  Those  elected by the congregation of GFPC to serve on the PNC are  W.S. Adams, David Edwards, Russell Fulton (chair), Mary Lou Griffith and Mary Rutland. The PNC will use the church website to provide regular updates on its progress.

"Baobab Blast" Was a Blast!!!

Our Family Vacation Bible School (VBS) was a huge success, and we would like to thank all of the kids who participated in "Baobab Blast" and adults who participated in the "Discover Your Spiritual Gifts" class taught by Dr. Mel Strain. We hope you all enjoyed Family VBS at GFPC! 

New Member Class Underway

GFPC's new member Sunday School class started Sunday, July 11, during the 9 a.m. Sunday school hour.  It is a 5-week course taught by our interim pastor, Dr. Mel Strain.  Contact the church office for more information on this course (256-582-3875).
